WALLA WALLA – The Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office reported Friday that deputies were advised by dispatch that a citizen located human remains east of Walla Walla in the county on Wednesday shortly after 4 p.m.
Detectives, deputies and members of the Walla Walla Regional Task Force responded to the scene to conduct a search of the area. A body was in fact located and the Washington State Patrol Crime Lab responded to assist with collecting evidence.
The deceased was transported to Spokane where an autopsy was conducted on Thursday.
The Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office said this is an ongoing investigation and that more information will be released when the agency is able to obtain it.
