House fire caused by portable electric heater

WALLA WALLA – A fire at a multi-resident home starting due to the improper use of a portable electric heater Wednesday morning.
The Walla Walla Fire Department was called to the 100 block of Otis Street for a residential structure fire at 2:35 a.m.
When firefighters arrived, smoke was showing from the front of the home and flames were visible from a bedroom window. Most of the fire was confined to the bedroom of origin.
No injuries were reported. Damage is estimated at $77,000.
