House a total loss following New Year’s morning fire

PRAIRIE CITY – The Prairie City Fire Department responded to a structure fire in Prairie City early New Year’s morning. At around 3:40 a.m., a call was made for a flu fire at a residence on Cozart Avenue. Nothing official has been released, but a family member of the folks living in the house said the structure is a total loss due to water and smoke damage. They said that luckily everyone in the residence got out safely.
