Horses in middle of the road cause accident in Harney County

Harney County-Oregon State Police respond to a vehicle crash on HWY 78 near milepost 30, Monday, March 13, 2023. Evidence at the scene and statements indicated that the driver, Garrett Jones, 25, driving a Toyota 4Runner was westbound, when Jones swerved to miss a large animal in the roadway (horses were observed in the roadway near the crash location).
The vehicle traveled off the roadway and through a fence. No injuries were reported.
