PENDLETON – A horse was struck and killed by a vehicle on U.S. 395 south of
Pendleton on Saturday night.
Oregon State Police (OSP) say one of their troopers overheard medics being
dispatched to a vehicle vs. horse crash near mile marker 3.5 just outside Pendleton city
limits. The OSP report says the vehicle was traveling southbound when the driver came
upon a horse standing broadside in the road and was unable to avoid it.
The owners were contacted, and the horse was removed from roadway onto their
property. No citations were issued.
