Honoring the victims of 9-11

LA GRANDE – Today (September 10, 2021) the placing of flags to honor victims of the 9/11 attacks will be displayed in Island City and La Grande. To honor the victim of the 9/11 attacks, 2,996 flags will be displayed at Island Avenue and Walton Road. To honor the first responders, 1,400 flags will be displayed at the La Grande Fire Department. A total of 4,396 flags will be placed for the 20th year of 9/11.
