Homestead Road tunnel near Oxbow now open following rock slide

BAKER COUNTY — UPDATE 3/11/24 Idaho Power has announced that Homestead Road, just downstream from Oxbow, Oregon, is now open. The road was previous closed at the entrance to the tunnel following a rockslide in the area.

Idaho Power has announced that the tunnel along Homestead Road, just downstream from oxbow, Oregon, is now closed due to a rockslide. Crews have set up a detour for local traffic at the entrance to the tunnel. An engineering safety inspection is scheduled for Thursday to help determine a timeline for reopening the tunnel. No estimated duration for the closure has been provided.
