Holiday Closure Updates from Baker City

BAKER CITY – (Original Information from the Baker City Newsletter) . City Hall will remain closed on December 27, to observe the Christmas holiday and then again on January 2 to observe the New Years’ holiday. This will allow employees of the city to enjoy time with friends and family. I wish to thank in advance all our staff members who are required or might be required to work during these times. Our police, firefighters, and public works crews all find themselves in a position to work depending on the circumstances. We all take for granted that sewer and water are readily available whenever we want. However, the systems that keep clean drinking water coming in and waste going out require daily monitoring and inputs. Our public works quietly and assumingly check equipment, chlorine residuals, and other important operations to make sure you and I can enjoy freshwater every day of the year.

An extra reminder, we have lots of opportunities for community members to participate on boards and commissions. In fact, the Parks and Recreation Board encourages a youth and a senior membership member. If you have a youth who might be a good fit for the Parks and Recreation Board, contact Dallas Brockett, City Recorder at cityrecorder@bakercity.gov
