Hit and Run leads to DUII arrest in Harney County

Harney County-On the afternoon of Saturday, March 2, 2024, Oregon State Police learned of a hit and run crash at had occurred in the Grocery Outlet Parking lot in Hines, Oregon.

The suspected vehicle was a red Toyota 4Runner with a black top and rear end damage. Oregon State Police located a red Toyota 4Runner and conducted a traffic stop near Drewsey, Oregon on Highway 20. The driver was identified as Alisha Astill, 30 years old, from Bend. While Oregon State Police spoke with Astill, the trooper noticed Astill was exhibiting impairment and noticed that there was a cup of wine in the center console. Astill consented to field sobriety tests and further evidence of impairment was observed.

Astill was arrested and transported to the Harney County Jail. Astill was lodged in jail on charges of DUII, Failure to Preform Duties of Driver When Property is Damaged, Criminal Mischief II, and Reckless Driving. Astill also received a citation for Violation of Open Container Law. Hines Police Department and the Harney County Sheriff’s Office assisted.
