High-profile police action is explained by UPD

UMATILLA – The Umatilla Police Department assisted officers from the U.S. Marshals Service in serving a search warrant in the area of J Street and Seventh Street in Umatilla. Several other law enforcement agencies and emergency services responded to assist if needed.

The suspect is identified as Francisco Robledo, 39.

The warrant was served, and the suspect was taken into custody without incident. The scene was cleared and there is no further known threat to the public there. Due to the close proximity of the school, the Umatilla School District was notified in advance.

Other agencies providing assistance included the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office, Umatilla County Fire District No. 1, Umatilla Rural Fire Protection District, and the city’s public works department.

Chief Darla Huxel issued thanks to the partners providing backup. She also thanked the community members who followed the directions of law enforcement at the scene.
