HERMISTON – Walter Vernon Higgins IV, 42, of Nevada is scheduled to be sentenced for criminal acts that include the armed robbery of the Circle K in Pendleton this past July. His case is being heard by Judge Dan Hill Tuesday morning.

Higgins entered a guilty plea in a deal with the Umatilla County District Attorney’s Office. DA Dan Primus has said the bargain will not be detailed until after Higgins is sentenced. The charges that were brought by Pendleton Police include second-degree burglary, unauthorized use of a vehicle, first-degree robbery, and unlawful attempted use of a weapon.

Higgins’ alleged accomplice is also facing criminal charges. Ivory Sylvester, 32, was arrested the day after Higgins entered his guilty plea on a number of charges, including supplying the gun for the Circle K robbery.
