HHS FFA advisor will judge in California

HERMISTON(News release from the Hermiston School District) The Hermiston School District is proud to announce that Sandy McKay, Agricultural Science Teacher and FFA Advisor at Hermiston High School, has been selected to judge both the Beginning and Advanced Parliamentary Procedure finals at the California FFA State Convention in Sacramento on April 3.

McKay, now in his fifth year as both an Agricultural Science Teacher and FFA Advisor, was chosen for this prestigious role due to his outstanding success in coaching Parliamentary Procedure teams. Over the past three years, he has led two Beginning and two Advanced teams to the National Convention, including last year’s team, which earned an impressive 3rd place finish at the national level.

“It’s a huge honor for Sandy McKay to be chosen as a judge for this contest, and a proud moment for our FFA chapter,” said Ray Baker, FFA Alumni President. “This recognition highlights the hard work and success of our members and advisors. We’re excited to see our chapter continue to thrive in the FFA and agricultural community with Sandy’s support.”

His continued dedication to FFA and agricultural education has helped establish Hermiston High School as a competitive force in Parliamentary Procedure competitions at both state and national levels. The California FFA State Convention is one of the largest gatherings of student leaders in agricultural education, bringing together thousands of FFA members from across the state. McKay’s selection as a judge is a testament to his expertise, leadership, and the impact he has made on FFA students and programs.
