HERMISTON(News release from the Hermiston School District) Lilian Fields, a dedicated bowler from Hermiston High School, has made her community proud by securing 2nd place in the WIAA State Bowling Championship held at Bowlero in Tukwila, Washington. Her years of hard work, perseverance, and passion for the sport have led her to this impressive achievement.

Lilian’s bowling journey began at age 10 when she joined a junior league for fun. As she entered high school, she became more competitive, and in her sophomore year, she placed 9th at state, an accomplishment that motivated her to push even further.

Determined to improve, she trained rigorously and competed in tournaments across the region, leading up to this year’s state championship, where she delivered a standout performance. Her success extends beyond the state level.

This past summer, Lilian competed at Junior Gold Nationals, a prestigious tournament that showcased her talent on a national stage. Her performance caught the attention of several college recruiters, and she has been in contact with multiple programs as she considers her next steps in the sport.

“My dad has played an instrumental role in my bowling career,” said Fields. “He’s bought all my equipment, driven me to countless tournaments, and been my biggest supporter from the very beginning. Without him, I wouldn’t have had the opportunities I do today.”

Hermiston High School Athletic Director Larry Usher praised Lilian’s dedication and leadership, stating, “Lilian’s work ethic and competitive spirit set a great example for other student-athletes. She has represented Hermiston High School with pride, and we are incredibly proud of her accomplishments. We look forward to seeing what she achieves next.”
