HERMISTON(News release from the Hermiston School District) The Hermiston High School wrestling program delivered an outstanding performance at the District 6 3A Championship on Saturday. The Girls Wrestling team secured the district title, sending 14 qualifiers and 3 alternates to the State Championships on February 20-21 at the Tacoma Dome. Meanwhile, the Boys Wrestling team battled to a 2nd place finish, qualifying 11 wrestlers and 2 alternates for state.

Hermiston’s wrestlers have continued to build on their tradition of excellence, and this year’s district title is another testament to their hard work and commitment.

“Both our boy’s and girl’s wrestling programs continue to shine. Our girls bringing home another district championship is something we are very proud of. We are quickly running out of space in our trophy cases,” said Larry Usher, Hermiston High School Director of Athletics and Activities. “We are looking forward to State Wrestling as both of them should compete for a team state championship next week.”

The Hermiston School District community is incredibly proud of these student-athletes and all they have accomplished this season. Their dedication, hard work, and perseverance have been inspiring, and we cannot wait to see what they achieve at the State Championships.
