HERMISTON – The city of Hermiston is in the midst of updating its Transportation System Plan (TSP). The current plan was launched in 1997 and has undergone five major updates with the most recent coming in 2015. Improved transportation planning was listed as a priority with citizens in a 2021 outreach.
The project team has collected feedback and issued a draft list of projects that the public would like to see. Those include sidewalk improvements, more off-street trails, more street lighting, more local street connections, and improved intersections.
That input has prompted the team to update its draft project maps and prepare summaries of top priority projects. An on-line open house details those specifics and awaits more public feedback. Visit this online open house (bit.ly/HermistonTSP2025). Feedback may also be provided by mail to Clint Spencer, Hermiston Planning Department, 180 NE Second St., Suite 211, Hermiston, OR 97838; or by emailing planning@hermiston.gov.
The deadline for giving input is Feb. 3.
