Original story:
HERMISTON – Hermiston Police (HPD) responded to a male being shot Sunday night.
HPD officers responded to the area of 775 South Highway 395 at 10:05 p.m., secured the scene, rendered aid and began collecting evidence and statements. A 49-year-old Hermiston man was transported to an area hospital via ambulance with an apparent gunshot wound to the arm.
HPD Chief Jason Edmiston says the victim was “less than cooperative” and ultimately left the hospital against medical advice. Initial statements suggested the victim made an inappropriate comment to a female, and an unknown male later shot the victim before fleeing on foot away from the area.
The investigation is ongoing.
