HERMISTON – Hermiston’s lights up downtown for Christmas today beginning at 5 p.m. on Festival Street. There will be performances by school bands and a choir, the Lighted Holiday Parade, the traditional tree lighting with Santa, and photo opportunities with St. Nick as well.
The Candy Cane Village and Land of Lights open Friday at Eastern Oregon Trade and Event Center. The drive-through Land of Lights display will also feature a free walk-through tour sponsored by Good Shepherd Health Care System. Also new this year is an iceless skating rink at the entrance to the Candy Cane Village.
After it opens this Friday, the village and Land of Lights will be open Thursday through Sunday in December from 5-9 p.m. The skating rink will be open from 5-8 p.m. Friday, noon-8 p.m. Saturday, and noon-6 p.m. Sunday from Dec. 6 to Jan. 4, 2025. Free skate rentals are included in the rink admission of $5 for youths and $7 for adults.
