HERMISTON โ€“ The public is invited to the ribbon cutting for the new Hermiston High School Annex at 6 p.m. Thursday. Superintendent Tricia Mooney thinks people will be impressed.

โ€œItโ€™s bright, itโ€™s open, thereโ€™s a lot of daylight and weโ€™ve been really thoughtful in how weโ€™ve planned those classrooms to maximize instruction across the high school,โ€ Mooney said.

The building has 13 classrooms. It will house the high schoolโ€™s math department. Other classrooms are for computer programming and engineering. Mooney said people will really like the space thatโ€™s set aside for plant science.

โ€œWith two new greenhouses that are out there, the space for plant science is really amazing,โ€ she said. โ€œThere are a lot of windows, so it creates kind of an indoor-outdoor space and lab space.โ€
