HERMISTON – The public is invited to the ribbon cutting for the new Hermiston High School Annex at 6 p.m. Thursday. Superintendent Tricia Mooney thinks people will be impressed.
“It’s bright, it’s open, there’s a lot of daylight and we’ve been really thoughtful in how we’ve planned those classrooms to maximize instruction across the high school,” Mooney said.
The building has 13 classrooms. It will house the high school’s math department. Other classrooms are for computer programming and engineering. Mooney said people will really like the space that’s set aside for plant science.
“With two new greenhouses that are out there, the space for plant science is really amazing,” she said. “There are a lot of windows, so it creates kind of an indoor-outdoor space and lab space.”
