HERMISTON – The Hermiston City Council will consider selling 10 acres in the South Hermiston Industrial Park (SHIP) during its meeting this evening (Monday) at 7 p.m. The proposal would authorize the sale of the land to support new private light industrial development.
The site is part of a 44-acre acquisition known as the Cook Property. The development includes an initial 30,000-square-foot facility with the potential for a full build out at 95,000 square feet. The city used Utility Fund reserves to purchase the land. The agreed sale price is $650,000, which is an increase of about $200,000 over what the city paid. All proceeds from the sale will be returned to the Utility Fund.
The council will also consider making amendments to the mobile vending license ordinance, updating the master fee schedule, and approving UV disinfection equipment at the recycled water treatment plan. Council members will also discuss the future of the Carnegie Building.
The meeting will be preceded by a work session tour of the Public Safety Center at 6 p.m. The full meeting agenda, staff report, and livestream are available at www.hermiston.gov.
