HERMISTON – The Hermiston City Council holds its regular meeting this evening at 7
in council chambers of city hall. One item on the agenda is naming the pickleball courts.
The council recently adopted a naming rights policy. The committee working on the
pickleball courts has secured donations for the complex and staff reports they’ve
secured enough money to begin construction of the courts.
With an approval by the council, the facility will be named the Good Shepherd Health
Care System Pickleball Complex. Good Shepherd donated $100,000 to ensure its right
to name the courts.
The council is also expected to hear a number of reports and to make appointments to
several committees. When the meeting is adjourned, the council will tour the completed
expansion of the basement at the Harkenrider Senior Activity Center.
The meeting is streamed live on Hermiston’s YouTube channel. It can also be accessed
on Zoom. The meeting ID is 829 0043 5622 and the passcode is 417097.
