HERMISTON(News release from the city of Hermiston) The Hermiston City Council will consider two agenda items related to the Eastern Oregon Trade & Event Center (EOTEC) at its meeting today (Monday), including land-use actions tied to a proposed RV park and a contract award for construction of an RV park intended to support major regional events.

The first item involves proposed comprehensive plan and zoning map amendments, along with annexation of approximately 20 acres at 1835 E. Airport Road. The property is planned for development of an RV park to support EOTEC and community needs. If approved, the action would allow the site to be annexed into the city to connect to municipal services and move forward with grant-funded development.

Farm-City Pro Rodeo is the property owner and has authorized the City of Hermiston to move forward with the annexation.

The second item is consideration of a resolution awarding a construction contract for the “North RV Park” located on the EOTEC campus. The project is part of a broader $8 million investment to build RV facilities to accommodate event-related camping and workforce needs associated with major events such as the Umatilla County Fair and Farm-City Pro Rodeo. This project will be funded by Amazon and operated by the City. Council will review bids and consider awarding the contract to the lowest responsible bidder.

The meeting is (today) Monday, January 26 and is open to the public. Community members are encouraged to attend or provide testimony. The full meeting agenda and staff reports can be found on the city meetings page, and video livestream will be available at www.hermiston.gov.
