SAN BERNADINO, CALIFORNIA – The Hermiston Little League 10/11/12 softball team is continuing their run through the Little League Softball Northwest Region Tournament in San Bernadino, California.

The girls are representing Oregon in the regional after winning the state tournament on July 8. After a first-round loss to Washington (Mill Creek), they’ve bounced back with two straight wins against Montana (Billings) and Colorado (Monument).

Thursday they’ll play Idaho (Eagle), with the winner of that game then moving on to play Washington in the championship game Friday. The game on Thursday will be televised on ESPN at 2:15 p.m., as will the championship game if they advance. The regional champion advances to the Little Softball World Series beginning August 8 in Greenville, North Carolina.

The Hermiston girls weren’t the only ones finding success this summer. The Blue Mountain Little League Softball team represented Oregon at the Junior League Softball World Series West Regional in Tucson, Arizona, advancing all the way to the championship game before losing to Northern California (Palo Cedro).
