JOSEPH, OR — (Release from Helping Hearts) Helping hearts, Wallowa’s Child Advocacy Center, held our first Golf Tournament over Chief Joseph Days weekend at the beautiful Alpine Meadows Golf Course. We had great participation with 11 (4 player) teams participating in this 18-hole scramble. Congratulations to team TG (Players: Pierce Millar, Randy Slinker, Tony Chrisman, and Jacob Losby) on being this year’s Tournament Champions winning the prize of $800. Golfers and volunteers were moved when the winning team donated their prize money back to the center to serve the children of Wallowa County.
The total profits brought in by the Golf Tournament was $4,500.00! These proceeds will directly serve children/youth in Wallowa County creating a safe place for kids to tell their stories, seek medical exams and advocacy. Helping Hearts is a front-line responder to reports of child sexual and physical abuse, witnessing violence, and other serious maltreatment of children in Wallowa County. Providing forensic interviews, medical exams and family advocacy.
