BAKER COUNTY – The Baker County Sheriff’s Office needs your help.  They are in the process of applying for grants to bring a scent tracking/trailing K9 to their team.

According to BCSO, “Numerous patrol investigations and search and rescue missions have demonstrated there is a need for this resource. The dog would be able to detect, recognize and follow a specific scent.

This might mean locating a lost child in the woods, tracking a suspect who committed crime, or locating evidence in a criminal investigation.

Funds will be used to purchase the dog and cover the cost of training expenses.

One of the grants we applied for, Aftermath K9 Grant, uses a unique process to issue awards. It chooses the agency with the most votes. Beginning October 24th, you can vote for the Baker County Sheriff’s Office on the Aftermath website and social media pages (Facebook and Instagram).”

Voting continues through October 31st and you can vote daily.
