JOHN DAY – Community Counseling Solutions Clinical Director Thad Labhart wants anyone who may be struggling this holiday season to know that you’re not alone. Labhart was recently on KJDY’s Coffee Time, and shared some statistics with our listeners regarding stress during the holidays:

“These are from the American Psychological Association. [It’s] probably no surprise to most people, but 89% of adults feel heightened stress during the holidays. What is even more surprising is that 41% say it’s their highest stress level of the year. I find this fascinating, too—45% of people who drink said that their drinking habits increase significantly during the holidays as well.”

Labhart said multiple resources are available through CCS to individuals who are having a hard time dealing with stress. For more information, call the John Day CCS Office at (541) 575-1466.
