Heat means garbage trucks run early

HERMISTON – The heat wave has caused a change to garbage pickup in Hermiston this week. Sanitary Disposal is starting its daily runs an hour earlier.
“We’re encouraging folks this week to get their garbage cans out the night before so that the garbage truck drivers can get out earlier,” Assistant City Manager Mark Morgan said.
Sanitary Disposal has told city officials that if someone fails to get their garbage out in time for the earlier pickup, that person can call and schedule an alternate pickup time. The number is 541-567-8842.
