Harney District Hospital begins construction on Rehabilitation & Sports Medicine Clinic Expansion

HARNEY COUNTY-Construction has officially begun on a major expansion and remodel of Harney District Hospital’s (HDH) Rehabilitation & Sports Medicine Clinic, formerly known as the Physical Therapy Clinic.

The renovation project will extend the current clinic into the existing HDH Family Care Clinic lobby. Once completed, the upgraded space will feature five dedicated treatment rooms, a larger open gym area, and modern upgrades including new equipment and updated treatment tables designed to improve patient care.

To accommodate construction, hospital administration has implemented several temporary access changes and service relocations until further notice:

Temporary Clinic Locations: Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine services have been temporarily relocated to two areas within the hospital—the main Board Room and the Specialty Care Clinic’s Racine Conference Room.

Family Care Clinic Access: The main front entrance to the Family Care Clinic is currently closed. Patients and visitors must access the Family Care Clinic through the primary front entrance of the hospital.

Patient Arrival Guidelines

The Rehabilitation & Sports Medicine team will direct all physical and occupational therapy patients to their appropriate appointment location upon scheduling. Patients are asked to follow these navigation instructions based on their scheduled room:

  • Board Room Appointments: Enter through the hospital’s main front entrance and take the elevator down to the bottom floor. The Board Room is located directly across from the hospital cafeteria.
  • Racine Conference Room Appointments: Proceed to the Specialty Care Clinic and check in at the front desk.

HDH leadership expressed gratitude to the community and patients for their patience and flexibility during the construction phase as the hospital works to expand its facilities and enhance local care services.
