Harney County Sheriffโ€™s Office assists a resident out of their flooded home

HARNEY COUNTY-Harney County Sheriff, Sheriff Jenkins and Lt. McLain spent time yesterday morning assisting a resident out of their home that was about to flood in the Crane-Buchanan area.

Please take extra caution in flooded areas and do not attempt to drive in high water.

Per Harney County Emergency Management, as of February 24, 2025, there are sandbags and sand available behind Burns City Hall for those who need it.

the Harney County Sheriffโ€™s Department warns drivers to watch for high water on roads throughout Harney and Grant Counties. Remember to slow down and be cautious of debris and flooding. If encountering high water, do not drive through it if you canโ€™t see the road. Be prepared for travel delays and closures and always check road and weather conditions in advance.
