Harney County Sheriff “don’t fall victim to gift card scams”

Harney County-There is a fake government Facebook page claiming to provide money to senior citizens to get them through the holidays. The scammer claims they’ll give you $100,000 if you send them $200 worth of gift cards and claim there’s a $3,000 FedEx fee. If you see pages like this, report the page to get it taken down.
The Federal Trade Commission advises that if you paid a scammer with a gift card, to tell the company that issued the card right away, keep the card and receipts you have, then report it here https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/#/
