Harney County is in a Red Flag Warning until 11pm Wednesday

HARNEY COUNTY(Released from the National Weather Service)-A Red Flag Warning is in effect from noon Tuesday, August 12, 2025 until 11:00pm Wednesday, August 13, 2025 for wind and low relative humidity for fire weather zones OR696, OR 698, OR700, OR703, OR704 AND OR705.

An approaching system will result in breezy winds Tuesday and
Wednesday as hot and dry conditions persist. Main concerns Tuesday
are focused across Central Oregon, extending into Central
Washington Wednesday.

The National Weather Service in Pendleton has issued a Red Flag
Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect
from noon Tuesday to 11 PM PDT Wednesday.

AFFECTED AREA…Fire Weather Zones 696 John Day Valley, 698
Southern Blue Mountains, 700 Central Mountains of Oregon, 703
Warm Springs Reservation, 704 Northern Deschutes National
Forest and 705 Southern Deschutes National Forest.

TIMING…From noon Tuesday to 11 PM PDT Wednesday.

WINDS…West 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

RELATIVE HUMIDITY…As low as 10 percent.

IMPACTS…Any fire that develops will catch and spread
quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
