Harney County has damages due to high winds

Harney County-Blustery high winds hitting up to 75 mph hit Harney County Thursday and left destruction behind.

LIFE-Foursquare Church located on Alvord had half of its roof blow off due to the extreme high winds. Alvord Ave is currently blocked off until LIFE-Foursquare church’s roof is fixed. the City of Burns is asked people to avoid Alvord Ave.

Washington Street in Burns was blocked off for a short time due to a downed tree which broke a power pole with downed power lines. Washington Street was shut down for a few hours while crews cleaned up the tree and repaired the power lines and power pole. The street was re-opened a few hours later.

The City of Hines had a couple of downed trees as well. West Pettibone and West Handley were closed for a few hours while crews cleaned up the downed trees.
