BURNS – Harney County officials are addressing grasshoppers early this year. Harney County Judge Bill Hart recently informed listeners that several partner agencies are developing a “plan of attack” to deal with an excess of problematic grasshoppers:
“…three different opportunities to attend meetings regarding grasshoppers:
In Burns, March 14th at 11 a.m. at the Harney County Chamber of Commerce; March 15th at 11 a.m. in Denio Community Hall down south; and in Jordan Valley March 16th at 12:30 at the CWMA Office.”
Judge Hart mentioned that the efforts are a collaboration between the Harney County Natural Resource Advisory Committee, the Soil and Water Conservation District, and Cooperative Weed Management personnel. Stay posted for updates.
