Harney County flood update

HARNEY COUNTY-Update as of March 25, 2025 at 9:46am

Silvies River hit minor flood state of 12.15 feet this morning at 9.46am.

If you are in need of sandbags, they are available at the Harney County Fairgrounds, located at 69660 S Egan Ave. This is a self serve station and please bring your own shovel. there are some pre-filled bags available for those who can’t bag their own.

The flooding is currently impacting North Broadway Avenue, Foley Road, Stancliff Road, Riverside, East E Street and Koa.

Water will be close to flowing on to Highway 20 at the Silvies River Bridge, also low spots in the Burns RV Park may be impacted as well.

Predictions show the river trending upwards. 12.57 feet, Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at 5:00pm, 13.01 feet, Thursday March 27, 2025 at 5:00pm, 12.17 feet Saturday and March 19, 2025 at 5:00pm. Predictions are just good guesses.

Please do what you can now to protect your private property. Make a plan for evacuation and have your belongings packed and ready to go.
