Hardware store incident leads to theft & DUI arrests

JOHN DAY – More information has come in from Grant County Sheriff Todd McKinley regarding a theft arrest that occurred yesterday. Find the Sheriff’s statement below:

Ashlie R. Clark, 29, with a Hillcrest address in John Day was arrested by Grant County Deputies for Theft in the Third Degree, and then cited and released. Clark had reportedly stolen clothing items from Ace Hardware. Justin Scheidegger, 27, with a 677 West Main address, was arrested by OSP for DUI. He allegedly had driven Clark to the Ace Hardware.

Grant County Deputies and Oregon State Troopers worked together on the call.

Management at Ace Hardware declined comment. Nothing further was released.
