RICHLAND, Washington – Construction begins today (Monday) on a new roundabout at the intersection of state routes 240, 225 and Hanford Route 10.
The Washington State Department of Transportation, along with its contractor, Apollo, Inc. of Kennewick will work Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., to construct the new roundabout at the intersection.
Drivers can expect single lane closures in the area and an automated flagger assistance device will alternate traffic. The speed limit will be reduced to 40 miles per hour in the work zone area.
WSDOT said the roundabout will help reduce congestion and will allow traffic to continue to flow during peak hours. Construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of June.
