HALFWAY, OR – For years the phrase “Pack it in, Pack it out” has been used to remind people to properly dispose of their trash and not leave it in the wilderness for others to take care of.
Recently Page Frederickson of Halfway saw a post on Facebook showing a mess that had been left on Spur Road off of Siggenhagen Road. The trash was left behind by someone who had been living in a camp trailer according to Frederickson, who also mentioned that some of the mess had been cleaned up last winter but a final clean up hadn’t taken place. So, she took it upon herself to do the cleanup.
Pictures from Frederickson show about a pickup load of items that were picked up for proper disposal.
Several community members offered to chip in on the cost of disposal.
Fredrickson says, “I love the Forrest, if I can help keep it clean, I will.”
