PENDLETON – One of the four people charged in a kidnapping, assault, and robbery case in Pendleton in late March has a pretrial hearing tomorrow in Sixth Circuit Court. Umatilla County District Attorney Dan Primus said that Anthony Len Haigh, 26, of Stanfield faces the seven felony charges against all four, as well as three other charges.

“He’s facing another Measure 11 charge of assault in the second-degree, unlawful use of a weapon, and pointing a firearm at another,” Primus said.

Haigh’s bail is set at $350,000. Bail amounts for the other three are $275,000 for Deva Marthaller of Pendleton; $695,000 for Whitney Anderson of Pendleton; and $1,115,000 for Tyler Schachtsick of Pendleton.

“When they set bail, they really take a look at a multitude of things,” Primus said. “What the history is of the individual, do they have a criminal history, what is the likelihood of the individual reappearing in court, as well as the charges at hand.”
