BAKER CITY – A repeat offender with a long rap sheet is in legal trouble once again.

Oregon State Police says it served a search warrant on a house on 12th Street on Thursday, February 15, in connection with a theft and criminal mischief investigation.

OSP says multiple items of theft were located, and 37-year-old Justin Lee Kasinger was arrested. Additionally, Kasinger was found to be in violation of probation. He was arrested and lodged at the Baker County Jail for Theft II x2, Criminal Trespass II x2 and Probation Violation.

State Police say a few days earlier on February 12th, Kasinger was also caught unlawfully cutting firewood during a closed season with another man on national forest property, near Stices Gulch Rd. in Baker County. The United State Forest Service responded to the incident location and took over the investigation.

Kasinger was arrested in August of 2023 for illegally harvesting firewood, as Elkhorn Media Group first reported.
