Gyms will be able to reopen with restrictions

EASTERN OREGON – From Governor Browns update Tuesday on COVID restrictions, gyms will be able to reopen with restrictions beginning Friday, January 29th.  According to Brown’s announcement, gyms can have a maximum of six people for indoor facilities that are larger than 500 square feet.  However, the rules do not pertain to indoor dining.  All facilities will have to follow social distancing including wearing face mask.  Shayla Hewitt, Executive Director of Mt Valley Therapy said they will schedule by appointments including personal training. Hewitt said calls are coming in already scheduling for times.  Grande Ronde Fitness was unavailable for comment. 

(Information from Governor Brown’s Press Release)  Governor Brown announced modifications to the guidance for indoor activities in Extreme Risk counties, which will take effect January 29. These modifications allow for a maximum of six people indoors at facilities over 500 square feet (for all indoor activities except dining) with associated guidance for ongoing social distancing, cleaning protocols, and face coverings. For facilities smaller than 500 square feet, the modified guidance allows for 1:1 customer experiences, such as personal training. The updated guidance for indoor recreation will be posted to coronavirus.oregon.gov by January 29.
