GU Baseball to host Burns Tuesday at 4

JOHN DAY – The Grant Union Spring Sports team captains were on KJDY’s Coffee Time Tuesday morning, talking about the season ahead. Baseball captains Eric Culley, Ryland Biel, and Talon VanCleave said the Prospectors’ first game is this evening:
“ERIC: We have Burns today at 4 [p.m.]
We’ve played them over the last couple of years, with some pretty competitive and good games, but we’re not sure on them yet this year. We’ll have to see today.
TALON: They have a pretty good lefty pitcher that throws pretty hard.”
The Prospectors will host the Hilanders this afternoon at the 7th Street Sports Complex in John Day.
Also, there will be a honk-out for the Grant Union Gold Dance Team this Friday at 10 a.m. as the ladies head off to the state competition. Find the full school athletic schedules, including live updates, on Grant Union’s website.
