GSD3 gets grant to move building from Seneca to Canyon City

SENECA / CANYON CITY –  Grant School District 3 Superintendent Louis Dix was on KJDY’s Coffee Time, talking about some projects and undertakings that have been happening this summer. Superintendent Dix said they’ll be moving a building from Seneca to Humbolt Elementary to be used in their new Child Care Center:

“We were just notified that we’ve gotten a $100,000 grant through the Grant County Child Care Committee, and we’ll be working on moving some ‘modulars.’ We have a really nice building up at Seneca right now that has not been used in years, except for storage, so we’re going to be looking at moving that down and we’ll continue to build our program at Humbolt.”

Mr. Dix reiterated that overall, Grant County is considered to be a “child care desert,” and they’re doing what they can to fulfill part of that need at the center.
