DIXIE – Walla Walla County Fire District No. 8 rescued some people from their vehicles Thursday night after they got trapped in a snow drift outside Dixie.

Fire Chief Bob Clendaniel said they responded to an area on Lewis Peak Road prone to snow drifts around 6 p.m. and had to use a tracked ATV to reach about five people. Due to the weather conditions at the time of the rescue, standard fire equipment could not be used.

No injuries were reported and the vehicles have since been removed from the area.
