GRH Honoring Our Local First Responders on Patriot Day

LA GRANDE – (Information provided by Grande Ronde Hospital) As the 20th anniversary of the September 11, 2021 attacks on our country approaches, Grande Ronde Hospital and Clinics remembers those who bravely responded that day and in the weeks that followed. We can think of no better way to honor the sacrifice and service synonymous with 9-11 than by celebrating the dedication of our own local heroes. By doing so, we honor the 9-11 victims, first responders, and all who choose to serve our nation through military service.
The past year and a half has been hard. We have all experienced loss in one way or another, and are also now becoming more divided. In honoring this National Day of Remembrance, let us come together to remember and honor what unites us. Let us remember the progress that can be made, and honor the good that can be done when we come together as a community and as a nation to embrace the spirit of service and self-sacrifice that Americans so nobly demonstrated on 9-11.
That same spirit is evident in the incredible work we see day in and day out from local first responders. They continue to serve our community and country, putting others ahead of themselves. Their work has been doubly hard over the past year. We are incredibly grateful for each one of them.
We have chosen to honor Union County First Responders on this National Day of Service and Remembrance – our local law enforcement, fire fighters, wildland fire fighters, emergency services teams and military. On 9-11, our flag will fly at half-mast to honor the day, as well as those who choose to serve, protect and care for us during difficult times.
On this Patriot Day – a National Day of Service and Remembrance – we encourage you to join us in honoring our Union County First Responders.
