JOHN DAY – Grant Union Jr/Sr. High School Assistant Principal Andy Lusco was on KJDY’s Coffee Time Wednesday to discuss the school’s new hybrid attendance model, that gives students options to attend classes in person, online, and/or online-in-the-classroom:

“Some kids, even though they’re online and taking an online class, they need to be with a caring and trained adult to actually be prompted to do that work. That’s really where we’re headed with this. It’s what we would call online in-person. We’re going to have a space and a full-time instructor that we’re going to hire who is walking these students through their online classes and helping them get through those online classes.”

Mr. Lusco said without advertising their current hybrid program, 70 out of 211 students utilized online classes of some sort this school year.
