Grant School District Board of Directors Move Forward with Leadership Transition

Grant County(Released from Grant School District 3)-The Grant School Board voted 6:0 pass; Zone 4 Board Member, Chris Labhart, was
absent, Friday August 25, 2023, to approve a resignation agreement with Superintendent
Louis Dix, effective August 28, 2023.
Dix had served in the role since July 1 last year.
“We appreciate his service and wish him the best,” said Board Chairman Will Blood.
In a separate action, the board authorized Board Chair Will Blood to negotiate a two year
contract with Mark Witty, who has 17 years experience with the district, including five as
superintendent previously. Witty will continue to oversee Grant Union Junior/Senior High.
“All four of my children graduated from this district, and I’m looking forward to continuing
the longstanding tradition of excellence,” Witty said.
Witty and Blood said they plan to begin an immediate search for a principal to replace
Witty at the junior/senior high.
