Grant School District #3 experiencing bus delays Wednesday

JOHN DAY / CANYON CITY – Grant School District #3 Superintendent Mark Witty has issued a release regarding bus delays due to a traffic accident on U.S. Highway 395 C. See the information below:

“Due to a truck accident on 395, the red/purple bus will be delayed this morning as they are stuck behind it. Please refer to the following changes in time and the stops involved in this delay.

-Snow route pick up at Old court yard stop 7:25 or later

-Snow route pick up at West Bench and Screech Ally 7:35 or later

-Regular stop at Bare Bones at 7:35 or later

-Expect delays on all routes this morning.

Please travel safe and we will see you at school.”

In addition, the district released a message stating, “We apologize for the delays this morning. Please proceed with caution. If you are unable to make it to school, please contact your student/s school. Lateness will not count against students.”

U.S. 395C CLOSED DUE TO DISABLED VEHICLE

CANYON CITY / SENECA – Reports have come into our newsroom regarding a vehicle that is sideways in the road, blocking both lanes on travel near Starr Ridge on U.S. Highway 395C in Grant County. Very little information is available at this time. Use caution and expect extended delays in the area.
