JOHN DAY – Grant School District #3 Superintendent Mark Witty was excited to break some news to KJDY’s Friday morning Coffee Time listeners. He said the district put in for a revitalization grant:
“We got it. It’s a $200,000 grant. We’re going to get to be able to have another greenhouse, but we’re going to place it at Humbolt Elementary School. Those students will have some impact, but it’s going to be operated a lot by the Vo-Ag FFA department.
There is just so much that is going to be really neat about that. They’re going to be able to do a lot of different things with that greenhouse.”
In addition to the greenhouse, the district will also be installing a chicken house, complete with chickens that will be cared for by students.
