GRANT & HARNEY COUNTIES – A lawsuit is being filed against the Oregon Department of Forestry and State Forester in regard to the Wildfire Hazard Map that was released earlier this year. Plaintiffs on the lawsuit include Grant County, Harney County, the Oregon Property Owner’s Association, as well as what’s listed a “a coalition of concerned property owners.” The lawsuit was filed March 7th. According to an OPOA release, “The lawsuit, filed in Harney County Circuit Court, seeks a range of remedies, including a judicial order to set aside the Wildfire Hazard Map and invalidate all of the Orders sent to property owners so far.”

The release states the lawsuit “seeks to defend the property rights of those who are scared, confused, and unsure of what the Wildfire Hazard Map means for them.” Stay posted for further updates.
