JOHN DAY – Grant County Emergency Management Coordinator Eric Bush recently informed KJDY listeners that thanks to some recent grant funding, air conditioning systems will be installed at the Grant County Fairgrounds and another county facility:
“Bottom line up front is, we’ve got some money to put in a new HVAC system at the pavilion out at the fairgrounds, and also put in a HVAC system in the majority of the old county road department, which we’re now calling the M.P. Berry Building. So, that wasn’t programed for another year, but we were able to do it ahead of time with these grants that are no match and are pretty easy to manage.”
Bush said with the new cooling system, the fairgrounds pavilion could potentially be used as an emergency cooling shelter should the need ever arise.
