GRANT COUNTY – Grant County Emergency Management Coordinator Eric Bush said thanks to recent grant money from the Oregon Department of Human Services, the outlying communities in Grant County will soon be set up with emergency power and sheltering capabilities:

“It’s like a shelter-in-a-box; you know, it connects where you have all the supplies to set a shelter up. We’re going to distribute this stuff across the county. It won’t be just all sitting in Canyon City, it’s going to be distributed to the outlying areas, ideally, first.”

We’ll provide more on the Grant County preparedness updates as they come in.
